The iPhone XR and XS and everything newer: the 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 families with their mini, Plus, Pro and Pro Max models, the iPhone Air, the 16e and 17e, and the iPhone SE from its second generation. That is a fact about the hardware.
Where the phone was sold matters. iPhones sold in mainland China take two physical SIM cards and have no eSIM, except the iPhone Air and the 17e. In Hong Kong and Macao only some models have eSIM: the 17 family, the Air, the 16e and 17e, the 13 mini, the 12 mini and the iPhone SE.
iPhones sold in the United States since the iPhone 14 have no SIM tray at all. They are eSIM only, and they take a travel eSIM like any other.
The iPhone X, the 8 and anything older have no eSIM at all, and nothing we sell will work on them.
To check your own iPhone: Settings → General → About. If it shows an EID number, the phone has eSIM.
The one-tap install button on the order page needs iOS 17.4 or later. Older iPhones with eSIM use the QR code or the manual details instead.
