Why might ChatGPT, Netflix or your bank app act up in Kenya — and what helps?
Many apps judge your country by where your connection appears to come from — the plan’s IP location — rather than by where you are standing. Through United Kingdom, Singapore, and Poland, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are usually available. Streaming catalogues such as Netflix usually follow the country your connection appears to be in, so some titles might differ from home. Your bank might ask for an extra check when you sign in from abroad: set up app-based security codes before you go, and keep your own SIM on for text messages. Each plan names its IP location before you pay, and “Choose your IP” lets you pick another. Each app decides for itself, so the choice is yours.
Which IP locations can I choose for Kenya?
Plans for Kenya are sold with these IP locations: Israel, UK/EU (fixed-data plans only), Singapore (unlimited plans only), United Kingdom, and PL/UK. Each plan names its own, and "Choose your IP" lists them with their prices.
What does unlimited mean on a Lempart Flex plan?
It never runs out and it never stops. Each day a set amount — 500 MB a day on this plan — runs at full speed; after that the connection keeps working at a reduced speed for the rest of that day, and the full speed comes back the next day. There is no extra charge and nothing to top up. The reduced speed on this plan is 512 kbps.
When do the days start counting?
When the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination — not when you buy it and not when you install it. That is why installing at home on wifi is the easy way: you land already online.
Does this include a phone number, calls or SMS?
No. It is mobile data only. Your own number stays on your own SIM and keeps working normally, so calls and messages still reach you; to avoid your home operator charging you for roaming data, switch mobile data over to this eSIM and leave your own line on for calls.
Do I need an account to buy?
No. On this website an email address is all that is asked for — no name, no phone number, no password, no account. The eSIM and the receipt arrive by email, and the order number plus the last four digits of the ICCID do everything an account would: check what is left, ask for a refund, report a problem.
What happens when the days run out?
The eSIM stops carrying data and nothing further is charged. Some plans here can have days added later — the plan says so on its own details; for the rest, buying again is the way to carry on.
Can I share the connection over a personal hotspot?
Yes, on every plan. Whatever your laptop, tablet or second phone uses counts toward the same data as your phone: on an unlimited plan, the full-speed data for the day comes first, and after it the plan keeps going at its stated speed. Several devices connected at once divide the speed between them.
Will it work on my phone?
The phone has to support eSIM and must not be locked to one operator. Most phones sold in the last few years do; a locked phone will refuse the eSIM even though everything else is correct.
